The south area of Tendo spa is called "Kuwamomachi". There are many troubles to develop that area. The mayor of Tendo City said that they will not stop developing that area this council. Some companies have plans to built facilities, museum of music box, beer restaurant, etc. Others are against these plans who have been already open.

But the mayor said that it is natural for landloads to built. It means they will continue to develop.

Dec. 10 (Thu.) New system for directors

2 city councilors, Mr.Takashi KAIHOKO and Ms.Kazuko ITO, moved for a new system to stand for a director. She said that the mayor made many personnel changes every year and it looked just a fancy, without competence. There are some officials who cannot come up to citizens. So she and he want the mayor to cultivate officials.

As the 40th anniversary, Tendo city council they made a book of the history for 15 years, from 1984 to 1998. It is 2nd book next to 25th anniversary. They show inquiries, proceedings, changes of salary, etc.

Dec. 8 (Tue.) Stop the jet to Tokyo ?

The plane by ANA from Tokyo to Yamagata may stop by next March.

The reason is

little profit

why the airplane company ANA will stop plane from Tokyo to Yamagata, and there are 3 concrete reasons.

After the start of the bullet train "Yamagata Shinkansen", the passenger has been decreasing every year
They drop off the price because they compete the bullet train "Yamagata Shinkansen"
The efficiency of fuel is bad because the distance is near for jet from Tokyo to Yamagata

In fact we usually fly from Yamagata to Tokyo about 13,000 yen, but we can fly about 8,000 yen to use one of service.

They cannot continue this line because they are just private enterprise. But all people in Yamagata Prefecture must want to continue (I like a jet rather than a train).

Some people and mayors have a plan to merge 5 autonomy, Tendo City, Yamagata City, Kaminoyama City, Nakayama Town and Yamanobe Town. At the end of this year they send out questionnaires about this plan in Kaminoyama City, south of Yamagata City.

But the mayor of Kaminoyama City said that I didn't have a mind to merge Yamagata City at first. It seems that it takes long long time to merge really.
