News in Tendo(3rd week in Nov, 1998)

Nov. 22 (Sun.) 3rd prize of Ekiden race (the highest 2.2C /the lowest -1.6C /weather - cloudy)

We had the 15th Ekiden race in Yamagata Prefecture.
This time the team of Tendo got the 3rd prize.

This is a tradissional race, Ms.Makiko ITO who is the champion of Tokyo International Marathone race took part in this meeting last year..
They changed the cource to the central city this year for many watchers.

Nov. 21 (Sat.) Reconstruction of Palte (the highest 5.7C /the lowest -2.2C /weather - rain)

The city of Tendo decided to buy the building "Palte" next to the Station.

The "Palte" is 3rd floor building, there was a supermarket "Yamazawa" at the 1st floor and the 2nd floor, there is public plaza at the 3rd floor.
The supermarket retired because of less gain, is vacant at the 1st and 2nd floor.

The super express "Yamagata Shinkansen" reach to Tendo city on December next year.
They think that it is shame to be vacant the building next to the station.

Nov. 20 (Fri.) New discovery (the highest 4.2C /the lowest -1.8C /weather - rain)

They had a meeting to explain the ruins "Itabashi" at the Kurazou area in the west of central Tendo. They found the most oldest things at the ruins.
They think that it was in 5C.

They don't understand the things which they found this time, but it must had been to use for food, supper.

Nov. 19 (Thu.) New "Ryuou" (the highest 2.2C /the lowest -0.8C /weather - cloudy)

They had the professional Shogi (Japanese chess) title match for men "Ryuou" at the Hakodate city in Hokkai-dou.
This time Mr.Takeshi FUJII with 7th dan grade won against Mr.Koji TANIGAWA with the titme Ryuou.

Mr.FUJII won 4 games continuasly.
It is the first time for him to get that title.

Nov. 18 (Wed.) Much first snow (the highest 7.1C /the lowest 1.1C /weather - rain)

Finaly the winter has come to Tendo ! In normal year, we have a little snow in the beginning of December and after that we have many fine days. And about Christmas day we have much snow. we have to change snow tires. But this year, we had much snow. They say that we have much snow several days on the TV news. Many people chaged tires of their car and there were many guests at the gas stations.

Nov. 17 (Tue.) (the highest 18.1C /the lowest 10.6C /weather - fine)

Nov. 16 (Mon.) Cold and Warm ... (the highest 22.2C /the lowest 13.8C /weather - cloudy)

Today it was the highest day about the lowest temperature in the history.
And it was over 20C of the highest temtepature daytime. It was same temterature on the beginning of September. These days we have the "El Nino phenomenon", strange climate ....
