News from May 17 to May 23

In 23 and 24, the Tendo Junior Chamber and the municipal assembly in Tendo had a meeting of a children Assembly.
55 children took part in this assembly from elementary schools and junior high schools in Tendo. At first, they had reserchs about tourism, environment, volunteer, etc. And next, they had a discussion about whole Tendo city.

Southeast from Tendo spa, there is the area called "Kaminukuzu".
New instruction "Sinrin Fureai Hiroba" have built there on May 20.
It has toilets, waterworks, parking areas, etc.
We can camp there maybe.

In 2 years, the bullet train "Yamagata Shinkansen TSUBASA" proceed from Yamagata to Shinjyo.
Now we take it from Tokyo to Yamagata.
So we can go Tokyo without change.
But because of that construction, we have to use bus instead of train.
The train company JR said to us a plan below.

New international system "Care Friends Yamagata" have built.
They gather over 10,000 piece of non use postcards and help children in Asia.
They have a plan to make brances in Yamagata Prefecture.

They have a plan to built new school meal center.
Present center is very old.
So they want to built larger and more sanitary center.

Ms.Kyoko OKUYAMA, the athlete of Paralympics, made a speech at the gymnasium of local goverment.
She talked that few people understand physically handicapped persons in Japan.
And she said to take part in the next Paralympics in Soltlake city.

At the Welfare center in Tendo, they have a meeting of the GirlScouts.
Many elementary school students take part in that.
They will have many plans to do this year.
