Some high school students at the Tendo high school go to the national meeting of study in Osaka, November 11.
They made the pamphelet for tourists shaped "Shogi" (Japanese chess). Tendo is famous as the town of Japanese chess in Japan.
They show many infomations from thier points of views. That may have a power to the city office.
Oct. 28 (Tue.) red leaves
We had a little snow around mountains in Yamagata Prefecture. But in Tendo, the red leaves look nice, beautiful. The trees along the streets became darker. It is the best time to see red leaves this weekend.
We have the festival of red leaves from November 1 at the "Kakuchi Gakusya"(old school) in the area "Kaminukudu". Thet light up the trees. So, we can see the trees in the evening.

Oct. 27 (Mon.) High scool student became the New Queen.
A girl aged 17 "Eriko YAUCHI" became the New Queen of "Shogi" (Japanese chess). For women there are 4 titles of Japanese chess game. She came to Tendo for the festival of Japanese chess in this summer.
Last year "Kouji TANIGAWA", who is a famous professional Japanese chess player, came to Tendo for same festival and he got the title of "Ryuou".
They say that "Everybody come to Tendo get the title" ?
We had "the 1st sport festival for women in Tendo". About 1,200 athlete came here from many places and they played softball and ballball and so on. We have the national festival of sports in the year after next in Yamagata Prefecture. So, they gathered people to teach techniques.
Oct. 25 (Sat.) You got 1,000,000 yen !
There was the athretic meeting of the race which 30 people run with tightening their legs each other for elementary school students. Totally 9 team below took part in this race. All teams were 6th grade (aged 12).
Obanazawa elementary school team (3 teams)
Yaji Chyubu elementary school team (3 teams)
Tendo Chyubu elementary school team
Miyauchi elementary school team
Okigou elementary school team
The winner was Obanazawa team. They go to the national meeting on TV program in November 8 and 9.
They broadcast at 13:15 in November 1 on YTS-TV.
